My brother says the most loserish things sometimes. Last night he asked me if I knew what Pokemon meant. As if I wouldn’t know that it meant “pocket monsters”! As if any self-respecting child of the 90s wouldn’t know what Pokemon were!

Last night, as we were flicking past the MTV music awards (or some other MTV rot like that) Fall Out Boy began playing and I pointed at Pete Wentz and laughed.

“Is that guy Asian, Tracey?” Is what Michael comes up with.

“What. The. Hell? How is he Asian? He’s the bassist whose penis was all over the internet,” I replied.

“Well, he has black hair, so I thought he was Asian,” he reasons.

Yes Michael, good one.

    Ah, Pokemon. I never liked them myself, but boy do I miss the 90s. I say that like I’m ancient now, but really… you can’t beat old school Nickelodeon, tamagachis and the days when the Backstreet Boys and Spice Girls were still popular. Good times.

    God, I loved the nineties. When pikachu was still cool, Spice Girls were still in, and the only thing that woke you up in the night was a Furby (as opposed to the drunken yobs that hang around outside my house at night).

    Pete Wentz is now in One Tree Hill if you’re curious.

    And black isn’t a colour… apparently.

    Haha… I never thought about what Pokemon meant. But I do have the Digimon theme stuck in my head.

    Digimon, digital masters… Digimon are the champions!

    Seems like something one of my “dumb blonde” friends would say (she’s actually Asian - with black hair - though).

    I was always more of a Digimon girl :P

    Pokémon ftw. We all know Digimon was a side-project made up of all the reject Pokémon. Not that I didn’t like the movie though.

    I actually liked Digimon (the show, at least) better than Pokemon. I thought Pokemon was lame. *prepares for tomatoes*

    Sometimes all you can is shake your head. Loudly. And then tell them that they’re dumb.

    Also, lol @ Rafia. I will love Digimon forever because of that theme song. It’s insidiously catchy.

    Oh my gosh! I’m a 90s kid. Once a week, I spend an entire afternoon listening to Nsync, BSB, Spice Girls and some grunge music too. And I totally loved Pokemon! I even remember watching the very first episode of it. lol

    Ehhh.. black hair… Asian? =/ lol
