Shippers offline

PE is pretty much my least favourite subject. I hate it with a passion and dread Wednesday afternoons and Thursday mornings with a passion. This Wednesday, well, it wasn’t too bad.

After getting eliminated from volleyball (Surely not deliberately!) I sat down on one side of the court with a bunch of people. One of whom said “Oh, don’t talk to Tracey, she slashes!”

“You write fan fiction? Do you write Harry Potter fiction?” one of my peers asked me. When I nodded, she asked “What are your pairings?”

“In Harry Potter, I love Draco/Ginny,” I gushed and was horrified when she told me that she enjoyed Draco/Hermione. “Noooooo!” I moaned.

“Oh, I love Draco/Hermione too!” Another classmate joined in. “I don’t mind a bit of Snape/Hermione either”

“Oh, noooo, that’s squicky! But not as squicky as this Harry/Flobberworm fiction I read!”

“Ewwww, Harry and flobberworms!” It got generally worse from there as we started talking about Voldemort’s bits and how we totally thought Bella would be all over him. “Ginny Weasley’s a slut!” One of the male fanfiction-ers was also heard to be said.

By the end of the lesson, I had a nice little group of people all talking about slash and fiction and their favourite pairings. It still makes me grin when I think about it. Fangirl/boy squeeing isn’t just restricted to the internet for me anymore.

Aha! I’ve only introduced one of my friends to the world of fanfiction and she heartily supports canon pairings, which just erases all the fun. I appreciate everything these days but stick faithful to my ‘One True Pairing’ - H/Hr and L/J. Oh yes.

(Draco/Hermione is fun though and you D/G shippers are fairly full of awesome. Especially when H/Hr is your side pairing.)

Can I ‘LOL’ at the comment above me? EFRON SHIPPERS? Oh yes! Tracey’s showing Zac te love, as well as Harry Potter…

It’s gone now Amber :P No way in hell would I let some spamming ZAC EFFRON loving trackback stay on my site! :P

I find it weird you have friends who write/read fanfiction. :P

…I wish stuff like this had happened to me in high school. I may have been a happier person.

Ditto to what Kimmie said. I wish all the kinds of people I know on the Internet would exist in real life…

Well, I’m glad to know they didn’t listen to the jerk who said not to talk to you. How immature is that?

I used to always be a Harry/Hermione shipper. I know, how lame am I, right? I was actually kinda happy with the way things turned out.

This kind of reminds me of my friends in high school. We spent the majority of PE talking about Harry Potter, while all the people around us thought we were freaks.

Haha, that’s awesome!! It’s amazing how much of offline time is now taken up doing e-nerd things. SERIOUSLY.

    H/HR FTW, though. :D

I think I’m permanently scarred from reading the first two paragraphs of that Harry/flobberworm fic. o_O

Bella DOES seem way too interested in her Dark Lord. Wonder why she got married.
