Holiday or field trip?

I’m going on a SUPER LONG holiday (I lie! It’s only three days) with what I call our super-azn-family-group-thing. That is to say, my family and two other ASIAN families are going on a holiday - together. It’s going to be a disaster I tell you!

I can just picture it in my mind. My “average” family holiday times three. Awful. And we’re going to a place that I believe to be suitable for a geography field trip. And I hate geography!

Also, my mum has seen fit to pack half of the house. Fridge and kitchen sink included! The entire contents of the pantry! Toilet paper and our entire wardrobes.

No, we’re not going camping in the middle of the desert.

This is going to be just great! I expect to have hundreds of friends pages, feeds and forum posts to go through when I come back!

It’ll be awesome, we might meet some ninjas or something. Or even get to ride a magical hover craft. No reason to be concerned. “One with be Azn forces, you psroper”. Yeah!

Shouldn’t be that bad. And if it is, make sure you got the good stuff on tape :P

I would think with other families around, people will be less inclined to get bitchy. So it should be OK! Maybe htats just me.

I hate weeding through feeds and whatnot when I get back from being AFK for an extended time… It sucks!

I feel for you, I do. When I went away for 7 days I come back to over 700 feeds, 200+ emails and around 6 pages of activity on each forum (except the dead ones). But it’s… well, you’ll get back into the swing of things!

Plus, I know you’ll have a great time. And while you’re away I’ll even read some D/G for you!

OMG I hate those kinds of vacations. They are always so much more work than it’s worth.

Now, if I went away for three days, I’d come home and jump on the computer all excited to catch up… and I’d only have about fifty feeds (I usually get about thirty a day), three emails (and one of them is from iTunes), and that’s about it. *sigh* LOL

Have fun…and you never know, a kitchen sink can always come in handy!

I bet it won’t be as bad as you think… and if it is, at least you’ll have plenty to blog about, presumably! (Helpful, I know. :P)

It sounds as thought it is going to suck.

I might have been going on holiday this year, but I don’t really want to, which means that no one else can go, since my Mam doesn’t want to and she doesn’t trust my Dad to take my younger sister to another country alone lol.

Hope it won’t be as bad as you think it’s going to be :P . Have fun and most of all good luck, have a blast!

Aww, c’mon! You gotta approach it with a better attitude than that. If you begin with a gloomy expectation of things, it’s gonna be difficult for anything else to happen :) You might just enjoy yourself if you try? :D I mean, I’ve never even taken a vacation with both my parents my entire life, let alone other family friends, so I think it’s nice your family is so tight.

That’s a lot of stuff! I’m sure you’ll have at least some fun. ;) I always enjoy family trips, no matter how hectic it gets.

I’d love to tell you that it’ll be alright, but then I remembered that I have a family, too.

Okay, no wait, never mind. It probably won’t be that bad. Nothing is more wonderful than going on a “picnic” with Indians. You’ll probably have fun!

Ah, one of those “classic” family excursions.

As a fellow Asian Daughter, I often suffer the bouts of parental paranoia. I classically remember my mother ranting 10 minutes before a flight: “OH NO! WHAT IF NO PILLOW? BUY PILLOW NOW!” It was tragic. Tragically embarassing, too, as she was waving her hands about frantically like a drowning child stuck in a dumper. She accidentally flogged me over the head with her ring-clad fingers. And left a mark.

If things get really bad you can always TP your family and the other families with it and start your own adventure :P

Have fun (although I reckon you’re back by now?!)

My family actually has such a difficult time getting along and agreeing on things that we don’t even TRY to plan vacations anymore. We’ve completely given up on trying to choose a location, get there in one piece (all five of us in one car = not a good idea), and actually agree on what to do or where to eat. It just isn’t possible.

I hope you manage to enjoy yourself. :)

Aww, it’s only 3 days.. that’s certainly survivable.
