CAPTCHAs piss me off

I think it just took me about 15 tries to pass a single captcha (or at least more than six), so I’m either blinder than I think I am, or the plugin is just stupid and can’t create clear images. I’m personally going for the latter.

CAPTCHAs shouldn’t have to be complicated images! Personally, I like Jenny’s choose the kitten CAPTCHA. It’s cute and not hard to get. Unless… Unless you’ve never seen a cat before.

That particular troublesome CAPTCHA (just what does it stand for anyway? Edit: “Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart”) didn’t even tell me properly whether I had “passed” it or not, so I think I submitted the information about three times before I finally realised I had already sent the information. So if you’re the owner of that particular site and happen to see this, I’m sorry if I spammed your inbox!

In other news, I’m sick to death of this layout, and I think it’s time for me to add some more content/scrap some old stuff. Here’s one layout idea that I’ve been thinking of, but I have my doubts about it.

I don’t even know what you’re talking about. Captchas sound like an online photo-blogging fad. Or something like Meegos. Or Gravatars. I want to change my current Gravatar (that reminds me of Graveller…) but I can’t think of anything 4wesomer than the “huh?” dude :P

By the way, take a look at Ninja! Tell me if you want anything :D

I vote for people using the Maths plugin. It helps me with my maths. :P

Not that keen on the colour scheme. Lest I say it…a bit dark? The colours are, for lack of a better word, too “mature”. You’re not a 40 yr old woman. :P

I don’t usually mind CAPTCHAs, unless they’re ones that are downright impossible to read.I feel your frustration there.

I also loathe the stupid CAPTCHA plugin for WordPress that makes you do a CAPTCHA after you’ve clicked submit, and then doesn’t redirect you back to your page. I don’t want to be stranded on a plain white “Your comment has been posted” without even a link to the home page! And honestly—I’ve never needed a CAPTCHA for WordPress. I just use Akismet and keep up with the security updates.

I’m fed up with the bloody maths thing too.

I hate CAPTCHA’s too. I have the did you pass math on my blog and although it can be annoying it’s fairly simple for people to use. If people find it too annoying *cough* Amber *cough* then I allow the option to register (meaning it doesn’t need to be filled in or any other details for that matter).

CAPTCHA’s, ick. But it’s better than “You have to be logged in to post a comment.” Or even worse, when people use Bad Behaviour and I get “Your IP has been blacklisted blah blah blah” And there’s no way to “redeem” myself. That just really sucks.

I prefer the kind of CAPTCHA that has a set image that it always uses because 1)they have less problems and 2)they’re the only ones I can create.

That layout idea isn’t as clean or aesthetically pleasing as the one you’ve up now.

I think the best option is to install a spam plugin or something that filters spam out automatically rather than using things like CAPTCHA. I really don’t like having to add numbers or type things similar to an image just to get a comment posted.

i like your layout, it’s easy on the eye. your content is given much attention because of the clutterless way you delivered it. i don’t like the colors of the mockup, i like this one better, but that’s my personal opinion lol. don’t mind me haha
