Peeve of the day

When People Type Like This. Not Only Is It Extremely Annoying (I can’t even do it anymore, it’s a bitch to type) but it drives the pedantic English Nazi in me nutters. I see it everywhere, in MSN names and whole paragraphs written like that. Unnecessary capitalisation is just as I said. Unnecessary!

Good luck to everyone participating in all of the crazy “LETS BLOG SOME MORE/TOGETHER!” (aka Jenny’s blogathon and Belinda’s group blog) projects. I can’t say that I’m willing to join you, but I will definitely be reading every single post that you come up with. How creepy do I sound? Oh no, better than that, I’m going to take notes and freak you out even further!

Not only that, I find pseudo-CamelCase to be incredibly difficult to read. My unconscious mind begins a new sentence with every capital letter.

    YoU. StAlKeR. YoU.

Ah, don’t even start the whole typing online thing! Wat abt pipl taipin n txt spik or people who type in sTiCkY cApS LiKe ThIs? AaAaArGh!

I absolutely hate it when people capitalise every single word, or better yet: HAVE IT PUT IN THEIR STYLESHEET. So when I comment or something.. people automatically think I’m an idiot.

    For the wrong reason. :(

One thing that nobody has mentioned: when people use line breaks all the time creating these stanza-like things. Often accompanied by a semi-colon at the end of each line. And I really hate when people put all caps into their stylesheet. I’ve seen textareas stylized with this before. Oh goodness, the horror. I had no idea if I was using correct capitalization. D:

Duuude, I, Like, Hate That Too. I Have A Friend Who Does It, And It’s So Annoying Right? I Mean, I Have TOOO PRESS THE DAMN SHIFT BUTTON EVERY SECOND ARGGGGGG.

Yeah, stalk me, read my entries, love me. Move to Canada.

[...] My title was not meant to mock anyones peeves, really now. I mean, who would you associate Annoying Capital Words With, seriously. [...]

  8. # Aravis, 1 year, 9 months ago.

One of my pet peeves is when people use unnecessary prepositions or clauses. Yes, I am an English geek.

  9. # Anne, 1 year, 9 months ago.

Ouch. I wouldn’t be able to type like that even if I tried my hardest. Although I admit I was guilty of lack of capitalization from way back then… it now happens to be one of my online pet peeves.

    Yeah, very annoying.

You may use that if it’s a title and not should be done in sentences. argh.

    Hey, take care, dear!

I’m a proud member of both those projects, and I hope I don’t make them fail miserably! :P

You should like, so take notes, coz there’s like so going to be a pop quiz when all the fuzz is over!

OMG. I found you!! BGS.com was coming up as one of those “there’s nothing really here, so we’ll throw some stuff at you anyway” pages, so I did a search and I found you! HIYA Tracey!

A-S is down right now, so I leave you with my other domain. I like your site

Want to know something worse? My screenname is in sticky caps! I actually LIKED them (in my SN) when I got the SN (it had to be about four years ago, when it was easy for me to read sentences that normal human beings found difficult).

  15. # Tracey, 1 year, 9 months ago.

Noooo! Sticky caps - do not mention them! Bleargh, but you know, thankfully, I think sticky caps are dying out. I don’t see them much. But excessive capitalisation is the new trend! I’m not even sure which one is worse.

Meli - Yeah, BGS expired and I wasn’t really into renewing it, I wanted something more um… Me.

Keep taking notes, for all you know, Jenny may spring a spot test on all of us! x_x

  17. # Boris, 1 year, 9 months ago.

On the bright side, at least it’s not as bad as when there’s a fluddz :p

  18. # Shari, 1 year, 9 months ago.

Yaiks! Unfortunately, my brother does it. I’ve reprimanded him, but he doesn’t learn! Haha!

I have joined the Blogathon, but it’s just now I’ve heard of this group blog. Interested, that’s me. =)

Okay, take notes. Just be ready for an exam when it’s all over. :p

It’s an eye-sore and terribly bothersome. Are people trying to prove a point? All I think when I see that is: “this person is a moron. Next!” But what’s worse is sticky-caps (thought I do it, in jest). It would take like 5 minutes to write one sentence.

I love the idea of the blogathon and group blog. I’ve been meaning to do stuff like that… but you know, I won’t be able to keep up. I’m glad to know I’m not the only one though.

I’m always amazed that people can do it actually. It’s such a pain to even capitalize one word in a sentence, but to do it for every word? Oy.

    (btw, I’ve moved to c0rinne.net. ^_^ )
