Dilemma: Solved (although it’s not a very good solution)
So, what is my answer to the question posed in this post?
As I suspected: Don’t sleep at all. Or at least, don’t sleep until it’s a very inappropriate time so that you only get an inadequate amount of sleep (and would probably be better off not sleeping at all anyway!)
Why did I have to start waking up so early? Yeah, school. And my first day has been… Not entirely miserable. Although, I was expecting a better day than today.
Maybe tomorrow? No, not tomorrow, because I have PE (or do you call it “gym”?) fitness testing first thing in the morning. What does this involve?
- The beep test - It says
it should not be used for those of low fitness levels
! Argh! - Flexed arm hang - Ugh. I cannot do this.
Reliability would depend upon how strict the test is conducted and the individual’s level of motivation to perform the test.
So, how about no motivation at all? - Agility run - Ok, this one is not so bad.
- Sit and reach - I only ever get like six in this.
Is it so bad for me not to want to do anything physical? I mean, ANYTHING but pointless running. This is why I will never be an athlete, I don’t see the point of running for no reason, other than to see how (un)fit I am!
Maybe Friday will be better.
ETA DAMN YOU SMILIES! Why won’t you work?! Oh, and I only did agility and flexed arm hang today. Beep test next week, horrors!

oooh i love the sit and reach! it was like the thing i always won class best for. but the mile run, eh i hated that :P

Oh the beep test! I used to be pretty good at that…I think I had an average of about 13 for the four years that I did it in high school. Obviously I was fitter then though.
Oh, and I sucked at sit-and-reach. Flexibility? Pffft. Agility testing was okay…and flexed arm hang was nonexistent. What upper body strength? Pfft on that.
So. Conclusion = beep test is best.

We never had a beep test. I usually did the best in the sit and reach, because of my short legs.
Oh, and I saw that you began to download Nodame from your comment. Hahaha, look what I have spawned.

*Blinks* beep test is best, Amanda? What? WHAT? I very much disagree. I’d have to say it’s right up there with being thrown into a pit of flesh-eating sand-monsters for the day. Testing how long you can endure them before they eat or beep the life out of you. Tracey, I’d have to agree with you on the tomorrow morning sucking bit.

I also wake up at 6.30am! Although I do struggle waking up, I will admit. I love the beep test. It’s one of the few areas of P.E. that I can actually do - and well. :P

Not having to do the beep test and run the 1.6km run was one of the things I looked for to leaving behind once I entered Year 11. Granted, we all hated doing it, so all sorts of excuses were formulated to get ourselves out of it. I hate P.E., but somehow managed an A at the end of Year 10. Yay?

Dude, you spoke to me like, all day, how could it be bad at all? Haha.
Though, not looking forward to fitness testing, either, it’ll be quite boring.

Isn’t that contrary. I never really got to talk to you all day. And why don’t people stop complaining about the stupid physical test- if you don’t want to “try your best” like they tell you to, then don’t. Just do it and give up the moment you begin if you’re whining so much.
# Tracey, 1 year, 9 months ago.
Yes, well Boris, that’s pretty much what I do, but I whinge anyway. You should know that.

Oh come on, those look fun ^_^ I gotta get up at 5 every morning and leave the house at 6:30, so I don’t wanna hear anymore whining about getting up at 6:30! :P

Ooh I always hated PE, with a passion. Luckily for me my arthritis usually didn’t allow me to join in, so every bad thing has it’s good sides ;)

I remember doing beep tests, those were fun. It was more of “GUESS WHO WILL BE THE LAST ONE STANDING?” thing, and they play music too .. funky music … like rap and hip hop and reggae .. yeah.

Oh man, I hated doing those stupid fitness tests. But, they quit them after 7th grade for us. I guess the teachers were to lazy to bother.
Ironic huh?

I’m a morning person. I love getting up when it’s still dark, which is around 5:00am where I live, and watching the sun come up.
The beep test is my one HUGE hate at school. My teacher makes us do it before we start our fitness block, records our scores, we do fitness for 6 weeks and then when that’s finished we redo the beep test and see how much we have improved. Well ‘improved’ for me is ’stayed-the-same’.

I’m lucky, I’ve never had to do the beep test. The one that I hated was the sit-ups.
Talk about killing your abs. (And, at the time, I didn’t have any. :()
# Belinda, 1 year, 9 months ago.
We have to do the “Sit and Reach” test, too. I suck ass at it. Never done any of the other tests, though.

First days of school are always so… ugh, you know the feeling. The first few days I was falling asleep in class, but then you get used to it. I look forward to sleeping on weekends. Mmm.
I share your hatred for gym class. That was the reason why my grade point average wasn’t as high as it should’ve been. Damn you physical education! Damn you! I always hated those “tests”.. like my classmates needed any more reason to believe I’m just a big fat blob. At least you don’t have PE everyday, or do you?

We were doing fitness testing too. Shuttle run and pull-ups for us. I skipped out on it though. Cuz lyk, I’m just cool? No, I didn’t feel like doing anything because of sleepiness. So, I just talked to my friends while we blended into the crowd.
