Hello there (and a to-do list)!!

So I’ve obviously gone for the name change. This is much shorter, and I think, more me. I’m sorry for the hassle of changing links and things, but think how much hassle I’ve gone through in the last couple of days! I still have a few things to move around here and there, and a bit more layout tweaking (I am internally debating the use of images in this layout…) Any layout comments and critiques will be very much appreciated. Oh, also, BGS will redirect to http://chrasy.com for the next ten days, until it expires (and when it does expire, traceyATblondie-gumby-sushi.com will as well, you can now contact me at traceyATchrasy.com).

Stuff to do (on the internet)

  • Customise my photo gallery
  • Finish a review (or two? I’m a bit lax in this area)
  • Move and customise fanlistings (Do I want a fanlisting collective? Nooo, I only own two!)
  • Fix up Otamop.

And on top of that, I have NOT been practicing piano at all. Eeek!

    Oh I like the domain name! :) It’s more YOU, you know? And this new layout is great!: I like how it’s black and white but then you’ve injected pink and blue here and there. It works really well! It’s like your old one but more sophisticated, very cool :love:

    Hey there! I really like the domain name :P Hm and as for layout comments; the only thing that’s bothering me is that the textarea is too wide, the human eye looses interest if the rows are too wide, and eyes get easily tired when they have to move like that. Just a thought, Otherwise I really like the simplicity, makes me wanna come back :)

    I really like the new name. Even better is that I’ve actually updated your link! I know, it’s amazing. It took me about five hundred zillion years to update Kat’s but there you go. I don’t believe I’ve seen this new theme before either. I’m so behind these days - while I’m revising all of you seem to be updating your websites!

    To me the theme colours remind me about nothing about you except maybe the actual word Chrasy. Seems like you got your previous comments page and adapted its ‘theme’ to the whole site. The white white white, looks like you’ve considered near nothing but hey, that’s why you said “I still have a few things to more around here and there, and a bit more layout tweaking”. By the way is that a typo for “move”?

    Sounding hostile, sorry. Heheh, this navigation thing down the bottom is kind of funny. It reminds me of how I used to clean my room as a kid. If my room looked like a complete clutter I’d just get everything and shove it in the closet. Out of sight, out of minds. So I get that you obviously can’t have this thing up the top, but it doesn’t really make things more easily-accessible by putting it all the way on the other end of the page. Malin said the text area is too wide. Maybe you could reduce the font size and put it in a sidebar/s up the top, making the body of your site slightly slimmer, and without these childhood-memories down the bottom.

    Liking the six-letter domain name. :D

    I gotta disagree with Boris. I like having what I’m reading as the center of attention. I don’t like other things like flashy images or layouts and long lists of links in sidebars distracting me while I’m trying to read. And I don’t think it’s too wide, I’m looking at the long essays and I think they look good stretching across the screen (I’m viewing at 1024×768), otherwise they’d look too long. Besides the line height is just right so it doesn’t feel cramped or anything. What’s worse are those layouts that are so narrow, every paragraph looks like a boring block of text. :S

    Malin - I changed the line height to 190% and the width of #content from 85% to 75%. Is it better for you now or is it still too wide? I have to say though in agreement with Kat, that in narrower columns, big paragraphs look like endless text blocks of doom, and I’m not into freaking everyone out with eternal paragraphs.
    Boris - Yeah well, to you the only colours that are representative of me are black, black and black. I really wanted a one column layout!! I really don’t want a two column again at the moment, and yes, I know that having a “sidebar” down the bottom is not all that great for usability, so I’ll just have to add some “skip-to” links later on.

    I like the new domain name Tracey :). It took me a little while to be able to get here, every time I tried to go here or to BGS I got a pop up box asking for a password etc.

    It looks like everyone is moving these days, ooh well, I’m glad they all do it at the same time so it’s easier to update my links ;)
