Hayfever

It was seven-thirty and I had just had a blazing row with my mother. I hate confrontation, I hate fighting with her, I had tears in my eyes.

“Are you ok? Is your hayfever acting up again?”

I rub my eyes and shake my head. Yes my eyes are watering, yes my nose is runny, no, it’s not because of pollen or any such thing. “I’m just tired.”

I fall asleep on the bus, like always, curled up and off to the side.

“So why was your hayfever really nasty this morning?” He’s concerned. I don’t know if that’s a good thing.

“It wasn’t that.”

“Oh, ok. Did someone try to mug you and you tried to spray them with pepper spray, only you’re so uncoordinated that you ended up spraying yourself?” He smiles.

I smile.

“No, not that. What happened this morning?” I ask.

I myself do not understand what really happened.

Well, wish I could say that. My nose hurts from the plethora of tissues it’s been attacked with, and my head from the euh-essity of the climate today. Although, hoorah for all ninjistic activities. I hope I didn’t make any matters worse, whatever they were. Fish.

Heh heh I wouldn’t put it past you to spray yourself with capsicum spray. hehe.
Oh, and bothersome issues are not bothersome any more, they are quite good. Bothersome issues are bad.

I’m sorry to hear about the row with your mother, hopefully you can patch things up with her soon.
Personally I never leave the house angry or without saying goodbye. I don’t think I’ll ever forgive myself if something were to happen and I didn’t say goodbye or left angry. Actually come to think of it, I don’t think anyone in my family leaves the house angry or without saying goodbye. I suppose it’s because we were raised that way also.

I’ve never understood my mother. She always apologises to me before I leave for school though - just in case, I don’t come back I suppose. As I’m young, I suppose I take life for granted - when she say’s “sorry” I just normally slam the car door and carry on with my walk to school. I will admit it - I’m a spoiled brat for the most part (a nice one though, of course).

I hope you and your mum work things out soon.
