Summer, please end. Soon.

Summer is terrible. The heat makes everyone, myself included, very, very grouchy and temperamental. This afternoon, inside of my house, it was 39 degrees (celsius). Granted, it was upstairs, where it’s mainly carpet and hot air that’s risen. Still, downstairs, which is primarily tile, was still stuffy.

People in Europe are freezing. I’m melting.

It’s too hot to play the piano, because it’s so humid. It’s even too hot to type without breaking into a sweat. Something is wrong with our airconditioning.

Once again, I find myself plunged headfirst into school. It’s been two days, and already I’m freaking out over the things I’ve forgotten, and a test I have next week on something we studied last year. I can’t get my head around it anymore. I’m quietly sitting and waiting for years 9 and 10 to finish so I can choose all the subjects I want to study. Bar English, which is compulsory.

Sitewise, I still have lots of stuff to type up, and that darn sitemap to fix up. I know I’m not doing something right with my lists, so I have to fix that up. I’ve made some changes to blossom, which seems to be most widely used, and I’ll still change some of the other themes/skins/whatever you like to call them as well. Maybe I’ll add a new one on the weekend, if I can whip it up.

I’m quite category happy, I just realised. If I wasn’t afraid of overkill, I’d make new categories for everything.

I always wondered why people love summer so much. It’s always so hot, especially in Australia. And I get the brunt of the heat in WA, the so-called “Hot State”. At least in Sydney it’s cold in the mornings, in WA it’s just hot all day and balmy at night. Why did we move here, again?

I would gladly trade you my winter for your summer! It’s usually just barely 60 Farenheit in my room, and even then our heating bill is through the roof — $250 last month. For comparison, my mother’s was $350, and her house is more than twice the size of mine. Although, to be fair, I live in a very old house with essentially no insulation.

I actually quite like the heat. In the summer our loft is like a dry sauna — I swear it was 120 Farenheit when we moved in! But it can really never be too hot for me…

School is not sitting too well with me either — only three weeks in and I’m already skipping class and getting no more than 5 hours of sleep a night. However, it is much better now that I can take whatever I want — core requirements are no fun (althought the fact that I would rather not take any classes is a bit of a problem).

I hate summer. I’ve managed to avoid the Australian summer two years running now, by escaping overseas, but even so, have had sunglasses permanently attached to my face since I’ve been back. My eyes just aren’t used to how bright the sun is, and the heat is unbearable, especially after getting used to temperatures of -5c, etc.

The heat’s ok. At home it’s fine. It’s a bit of a pain at school but it makes me feel adventurous. Plus that just makes swimming in the afternoon better. Plus the amazing southerlies (ys?).

You forgot about CANADA & how WE have to suffer from rain & snow. Althought I must say, this year is a bit warm.. Not alot of heavy snow like last year (which was like -22 by February)

& Here I am heaving a sigh of relief that I am NOT the only one who makes category for everything.

For goodness sake, I have a category for my OWN MOTHER :|

I have pretty much the same sentiments about summer as you do. I cannot wait for it to end. Even if there’s no snow during the winter, I’d rather wear more clothes than feeling as though I’d combust from the dreadful heat everyday. I’m glad it’s gotten cooler these past few days. Hopefully, it’ll stay around there.

Ah! The feeling of getting 9 and 10 over and done with to take up subjects I cared about! That’s precisely how i felt these past two years. Ah but senior school is indeed far better, you feel entirely different from being in junior school, I think.
